Currency Museum of the Bank of Japan:

Currency Museum of the Bank of Japan display detailed historical currency from Japan and there are plenty of interesting historical coins and bills on display such as Koban
(Gold Coins) use in the Edo period. The museum also have a section of Currency of the World. Despite the section is being called that, it only show parts or the world currency and not all currency from certain country is shown. It is reasonable since this museum is about Currency of Japan.

Opening & Closing Hour:

9.30am – 4.30pm (Entry until 4.00pm)

Closed: Mondays (except national holidays), December 29 to January 4

Currency Museum of the Bank of Japan is located near Nihonbashi Station, roughly 6 minutes walk away. In order to go to Nihonbashi Station, you must take a train on the Ginza, Tozai or Asakusa Subway Lines.
